Georgia Impact Fastpitch

Wow, what a huge day of softball. A huge thanks to the University of South Carolina for inviting the Georgia Impact 16 Gold to participate in a four team friendly/camp. After viewing the facilities and player accomodations, the Georgia Impact played the Carolina Crush in a seven inning friendly. After a see-saw battle, the Impact won the game on a monster home run from Kelsey Mericka. Great pitching and defense have become the hallmark of this new team. The offense is coming into its own.

A huge thanks goes out to Coach Anderson and Coach Guthrie for coordinating this weekend's JUCO friendly.

It was our first opportunity to play against JUCO talent in games against Snead State and Marion Military Institute. Both teams were made up of excellent talent from the Southeast. With solid pitching and timely hitting, the Georgia Impact Gold played three solid games of successful softball.

The Georgia Impact 16 Gold team stepped out onto the field for the first time this past weekend. Playing some of the best 18 gold teams from the Carolinas and Florida, the Impact was able to get out and run through the paces. Amassing a 3,0,2 record, we were able to get a significant amount of exposure in front of several college coaches.

The team will be travelling to Alabama next weekend to play in a three game JUCO Friendly.
