Georgia Impact Softball
Georgia Impact Softball is a top-flight fastpitch Association. We are an Association of Coaches who play under the name of "The Georgia Impact Fastpitch Organization". We are not an organization of teams. Our member teams do not pay participating fees or dues to an organization. Each team is a proprietary entity unto itself. "The Georgia Impact" is currently not a 501(c)(3)entity. As an association of Coaches, each coach is bound by an Organizational code of conduct and agrees to to The Georgia Impact Mission statement.
The key component to the succes of the Organization is the abscense of micro-management. As the game of Fastpitch has morphed, the Georgia Impact was created to meet the new demands of the game. With economics being the primer, team autonomy provides the flexibility for quick action. The Organization is the conduit for media relations, vendor procurement, ASA Liaison and Collegiate placement.
Will Tomasello, founder of the Georgia Impact Fastpitch Organization, started in 2003 with one 12u team. With the help of key sponsors, coaches and select players, the Organization has enjoyed sustained quality growth. In 2009, the Organization sent an historical 8 (eight) teams to ASA "A" Nationals in 10u, 12u,14u, 16u and 18 Gold. In six short years, the Organization has sent 17 teams to Nationals with substantial results. In an enviroment of competitive Travel Organizations, agressive recruiting and logistical limitations, the Georgia Impact is emerging with 16 (sixteen) teams in every age group for the 2010 season. With 6 (six) in-state Berths, the new Organizational format allows for significant vertical expansion. With this expansion, the Organization is poised to provide for a larger player development platform.
The Organization was excited to partner with the highly successful Atlanta Viper Organization in 2009 to provide for a truly unique Showcase Experience. The Atlanta Legacy Showcase was incubated with the help of Georgia ASA and several key partners. Once again, economics was the key driver to the success of this event. As most NCAA program budgets have been restricted, travel has been substantially curtailed. The Atlanta Legacy Showcase is a convenient regional event that meets NCAA travel restrictions and Travel Team budget limitations. 2010 will see the expansion of the event to 80 teams and the inclusion of a Fall Showcase event. For more information regarding the event, see the link on the Organizational Home Page.
