Congrats goes out to the 93 Georgia Impact Silver for earning the first ASA National Championship Berth to the 16U Nationals in Sioux Falls, SD.
After an impressive run at the ASA 14u Southern Nationals, Mark Watts team was able to secure their Berth to Nationals. This will allow the team to focus on getting seen in several Exposure Tournaments throughout the country.
Congrats again ladies. We are very proud of your accomplishment.
Upon the final vote of the ASA Council, Georgia has received the authority to award up to 5 In-State Berths in 2009. This is long overdue. Georgia, which has one of the highest ASA State registrations, has long been looked over when it came to receiving the appropriate number of Berths.
This will allow for greater participation in ASA Nationals for all Georgia Teams. As the Georgia Impact is a strong supporter of ASA Championship play, this will allow us to possibly advance more teams.
Wow, what a huge day of softball. A huge thanks to the University of South Carolina for inviting the Georgia Impact 16 Gold to participate in a four team friendly/camp. After viewing the facilities and player accomodations, the Georgia Impact played the Carolina Crush in a seven inning friendly. After a see-saw battle, the Impact won the game on a monster home run from Kelsey Mericka. Great pitching and defense have become the hallmark of this new team. The offense is coming into its own.
A huge thanks goes out to Coach Anderson and Coach Guthrie for coordinating this weekend's JUCO friendly.
It was our first opportunity to play against JUCO talent in games against Snead State and Marion Military Institute. Both teams were made up of excellent talent from the Southeast. With solid pitching and timely hitting, the Georgia Impact Gold played three solid games of successful softball.
